Using the ultra low power physical layer of WPC™ technology, the WPC-15.4™ transceiver embeds the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC layer stack popular in the wireless field for Low Rate Wireless Personal Area Network (LR WPAN).

By integrating WPC-15.4™ devices, OEMs improve their product compatibility with other open/proprietary standards, as ZigBee™ or Internet Protocol, and ensures a higher coverage when radio can be not used alone with a reduced engineering development process.

Communication Stack:

WPC-15.4™ transceiver provides the common standards IEEE 802.15.4 MAC layer stack adapted for PLC transceiver. The communication stack is implemented partially on the WPC-15.4™ transceiver and the applicative CPU (ATmega1281 through RDK230).

Frame Check & Correction:

8 bits CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) and Forward Error Correction (FEC) Mechanism (Hamming encoding)
