WPC-IP™
ultra low power PLC chip for IP networks
|
|
WPC-IP™ is Watteco's latest device of the Watt Pulse Communication -WPC™- products family. The WPC-IP™ Transceiver makes easy to build IP (Internet Protocol) smart energy management solutions over power lines.
Leveraging the use of 6LoWPAN*, IEEE 802.15.4 protocol stacks per a network processor, the WPC-IP™ device extends ultra low power WPC™ physical layer communication over any IPv6 networks facilitating a direct communication with internet-based devices and web servers/browsers. This is a direct bridge between Power Line Communication (PLC) and any IP Technologies over any wireline or wireless networks. In addition, WPC-IP™
embeds an RPL stack (Routing Protocol for Low power and lossy network) which facilitates the communication by building an high performance communication network.
WPC-IP™ facilitates an easy integration with any IP network processors to support the large number of emerging smart grid applications with minimal development effort to accelerate Time to Market for OEMs.
